Yvette Nana, of Fallow Court Avenue in North Finchley, north London, had no recourse to public funds as a Cameroon national but forged a French national identity card, which she used to defraud the council out of £91,152.04 between January 2001 and October 2007.

She was caught when officials received an anonymous tip off that she was claiming as a single woman but living with a partner. Further investigations revealed that the identity card number she was using was fake. Nana, who also made a benefit claim with a false name in 2004, later admitted six counts of fraud and false accounting charges at Wood Green Crown Court.
