United Arab Emirates: Cameroonian in jail for cheating
DUBAI — The Dubai Police referred a Cameroonian to the Public Prosecution on charges of cheating a Lebanese engineer to the tune of Dh131,000.

The engineer believed them but later he informed the CID officials who set a trap, when the defendant was inside a parked vehicle near Crowne
Plaza Hotel .

The main defendant was arrested while receiving $100,000.

He told the Lebanese that he needed Dh131,000 for clearing a bag from a cargo company.

Another suspect told the victim that he had brought a chemical which could produce Dh1,000 and $1,000 bills. The Lebanese ‘agreed’ to become their partner and, was asked to give $100,000 as an advance.

In a second case, the Dubai Public Prosecution charged three Nigerian suspects for fraud and impersonation. They cheated an Asian and took from him Dh1,800saying that he wanted to bring over Dh4 million over to the UAE for investment.

The other suspects in this case said they had  black painted papers that could be chemically converted into $100 bills. The police acting on the complaint by the plaintiff arrested the suspects.
